Liz is a Clinic Partner and has been a Hand Therapist since 2003 after completing her Masters of Physiotherapy (Hand Therapy). She has been a Registered Physiotherapist since 1985. working in both the public and private sector. Over the past 23 years she has been almost continuously involved in and fulfilled various volunteer roles in the Australian Hand Therapy Association and the International Federated Societies for Hand Therapy, in which she currently serves as IFSHT Treasurer.
Liz is motivated by the opportunity to mentor and work with like-minded passionate practitioners to improve hand therapy practice in our community, and enjoys supporting other practitioners learn the rewards that come with working with hands. Her special interests include wrist instability, thumb OA and trauma care.
Liz was awarded the AHTA Jill Chapman Award for Best Clinical Paper on Mid Carpal Instability and has presented workshops and lectures nationally and internationally on elbow and wrist injuries in the paediatric athlete.
At the 2014 AGM Liz was honoured to be awarded Life Membership of the AHTA ‘in recognition of (her) outstanding dedication and commitment to the AHTA’. Liz is an AHTA Accredited Hand Therapist and also established the first ‘Credentialing Council of the AHTA’.
In her spare time (what spare time) Liz likes to hit the golf course, and has recently started dragon boating !
